Becoming a Contractor
Thank you for your interest in exploring the possibility of becoming a Plumbers Local 12
contractor. As a contractor you will have access to the best plumbers and apprentices in the
industry. Currently there are over 60 signatory contractors working all over the Metropolitan
Boston area doing all facets of plumbing. Commercial, Residential, Service we do it all.
Our contractor base includes what you may already believe, that is large contractors employing
hundreds of workers working on large projects. But we also have single employee owner
operators as well as everything in between.
Plumbers Local 12 and the Greater Boston Plumbing Contractors Association every three or
four years get together and collectively bargain and come up with an agreement. One thing to
note is that both sides enjoy a great working relationship. In between agreements we are
constantly working together to make positive change in our industry.
The Local 12 Training Facility is a State approved training program that is currently training
apprentices at more than double the hours of what is required by the State of Massachusetts.
We recently started a day school program that will turn out even better performing apprentices
for our contractors.
